Every therapist will have their own story of why they took this path. Heres a snippet of mine.
As a teenager I struggled with various difficulties throughout secondary school. I withdrew from my family and friends about certain things, I got lost in my own mind and anxious and intrusive thoughts took hold. I left school with an interest to study Psychology as an A-Level. One day, our class was taught by a local counsellor, she sat with me and told me all about her job, her training and how she got to where she was. I was hooked. From there, I completed my counselling training and haven’t looked back. I completed my training in working with adults but continued to do additional training in working with Children and Young People.
I qualified as a counsellor at the age of 20 and have worked for the past 12 years with children, teenagers and adults. I have worked for charities, within schools and built my own private practice. I have moved house, moved county, I have grown from the anxious and self conscious teen into a therapist, a mum and a wife.

Why not?
What have you got to lose?
Talking with a therapist, who is outside of your circle of family and friends can be a great way to really dive deep into whats bothering you and what's holding you back. My goal is that you leave therapy feeling lighter and more in control.
